Sposoby ograniczenia filtracji wody przez wały przeciwpowodziowe na lubuskim odcinku Odry
Abstract
Methods of reducing water percolation through flood banks Lubuski section of the Odra River case study (SW Poland).S u m m a r y. Many different types of sealing materials are used during modernization of the flood banks of Odra River. They are installed both in the body and in the subsoil of the flood banks. Effectiveness of sealing systems used in Lubuski section of the Odra has been evaluated by observing level of water in piezometers located on both sides of the systems. This setup allowed to estimate the rate of water filtration (percolation) with every kind of insulating systems and thus their effectiveness. The research on effectiveness of employed systems have been conducted in selected section of the flood banks. Four different sealing technologies were used: a) PVC foil (geomembrane) placed into the body of the flood banks, b) PVC foil within the body of the flood banks plus a protective screen C–LOC in the subsoil of the flood banks, c) bentomat (geotextiles) placed in the body of the flood banks, d) bentomat placed in the body of the flood banks plus a loam partition set up in the subsoil of the flood banks. The survey indicated that in the given geological circumstances —the same throughout the section of the floodbanks—the most effective method of reducing water filtration was to apply both geomembrane and C–LOC protective screen while using geotextiles only gave the worst results.Downloads
