Abstract


Lacustrine sediments of Eemian Interglacial at Leszczyno (Płock Upland — Central Poland).
Summary. Eemian Interglacial lacustrine sediments at Leszczyno are situated within the area of the Warta Glaciaton and slightly to the east from the maximal extent of the Vistulian Glaciaton (Fig. 1). These sediments are situated in a wide depresion left by dead ice; its origin was controlled by tectonic and glaciotectonic conditions. Lacustrine silts and calcareus gyttja (about 2.7 m thick overlie the Warta Glacial till, and are covered by sands, silts and of the Vistulian Glaciaton (about 7.6 m thick — Figs. 3, 4). Palynostratigraphically, the biogenic lake sediments include 7 local pollen assemblage zones (L PAZ).Their spectra represent succession of the plant assemblages nearly of the whole protocratic stage, mesocratic stage and older segment of the telocratic stage of the Eemian Interglacial. Pollen diagram of the sediments from Leszczyno represents the north Masovian variant of the Eemian Interglacial succession, characterized by values of Abies (3%). Those of Taxus reach 5%.
