Abstract


Mining in Poland after the introduction of Natura 2000 network — evaluation of economic and social loss value.
A b s t r a c t . The paper presents methodology for evaluation of economic and social consequences for mining sector in the case of ceasing current and future mining in areas covered by the Natura 2000 network. The analysis is conducted for all types of mineral deposits located within Natura 2000, i.e. natural gas and coalbed metane, crude oil, hard coal and lignites, zinc-lead, copper, arsenic ores, peat, salt, lacustrine chalk, gypsum, sand and gravel, dimension and building stones, etc. In total, 296 deposits were analysed.
