Abstract
Implementation of geothermal projects – economic aspects.
A b s t r a c t. The obtaining of heat and electricity from thermal waters fulfills environmental goals to increase the share of energy from renewable energy sources in the total energy consumption. Therefore, investments in energy sector should be one of the priorities in implementation of the State Environmental Policy in Poland. The high investment and operating costs of companies pursuing geothermal projects require support of their activities. The recently introduced changes in legislation and initiatives of non-governmental institutions create an opportunity for development of geothermal energy in Poland.
