Pierwsze w Polsce znalezisko izolowanego zmineralizownego rdzenia pêdu karbońskiego kordaita

Abstract

First find of the Carboniferous isolated permineralized pith of cordaitalean stem in Poland.A b s t r a c t. Specimen of isolated silicified cordaitalean pith, most probably late Carboniferous, has been found by Grzegorz Krajewski as redeposited in Bierkowice near Kłodzko. Specimen, of 6.7 cm in lenght and 5.5 cm in diameter, has highly preserved original structure of several transverse septum built with parenchyma, which is typical for cordaitalean stems. This is the first permineralized cordaitalean pith from the territory of Poland.
