Abstract
Soil improvement methods – a case study of the South Ring Road of Gdańsk.
A b s t r a c t. Complicated geological engineering conditions of Żuławy require careful analysis of soil improvement methods. This paper describes two used technologies of soil improvement: Controlled Modulus Columns and Vertical Drain. These technologies are assessed based on the results of road embankment monitoring of the Gdańsk South Ring Road facilities. Special attention is devoted to the analysis of the consolidation of the foundation by using the Asaoka’s method or the hyperbolic method.
