Abstract

Estimation of landslides hazard on the example of Bełchatów and Turów brown coal pits.A b s t r a c t. In this work the types and causes as well as the actual methods of landslide hazard prognosis in open pit slopes were described. These methods are compared with evaluation criteria of landslides hazard in the open pits slopes in the present order of Polish Ministry of the Environment. Authors of this work stated that the two degrees of landslides hazard in the open pit mines distinguished in the order of theMinistry of the Environment are ambiguous and difficult in the practical application. Authors way of landslides risk evaluation was proposed.
