Abstract

Investigation of groundwater – surface water contact based on the quality research in a young glacial area of the Kashubian Lake District.A b s t r a c t. Regions formed in late Pleistocene usually show complex hydrogeological conditions. Groundwater circulation and the contribution of surface water in the groundwater flow system is not easy to determine. An important tool in such a research seems to be investigation of groundwater and surface water chemical composition. This paper is a case study of survey led in szymbarskie hills of the Kashubian Lake District (northern Poland). The groundwater and surface water quality was determined and analyzed with respect to conditions of groundwater circulation. The obtained results may contribute to development of groundwater investigations in young glacial areas.
