Abstract

Geodiversity in architecture the use of local rock resources in the architecture in existing and planned Europeangeoparks.A b s t r a c t: The paper presents different examples of the use of local rock resources in the architecture in Polish and European existing and planned geoparks. The use of local building stones in local architecture is an important attribute, which reflects relations between geology and humans. Moreover, the examples of local stones in the buildings within geopark areas reflect their geodiversity. A few examples of use of local stones in architecture in selected European and Polish geoparks are described.
