Abstract
The role of stone in Pruszków urban space.
A b s t r a c t. The geological heritage of Pruszków is absent in the inhabitants’ consciousness, even though it is within their reach. In addition to the short characteristics of geodiversity of the area, the paper also presents eight large boulders and other stone elements in the town. They have a great potential in playing cognitive, educational, cultural-historical, geo-conservative and aesthetic roles. These functions can be used in the development of urban geotourism and in shaping the town’s image in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.
