Abstract

Porphyry-type Cu-Mo mineralization in the Bêdkowska Valley region of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.
A b s t r a c t. Signs of mineralization were found in historical boreholes of the Bêdkowska Valley region within
granodiorites, porphyry dykes and mostly in country rocks, which are represented chiefly by Ediacaran meta-mudstones and meta-claystones. Sulphide mineralization of epigenetic character and hydrothermal origin is
represented mainly by pyrite, chalcopyrite, molybdenite, sphalerite and galena, which appear as both impregnations and quartz, quartz-feldspar, quartz-carbonate and quartz-chlorite veinlets. Both clastic and magmatic rocks are marked by numerous metasomatic alterations like sericitization, biotitization, feldspatization, pyritization and chloritization.
