ECONOMICAL PROBLEMS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LOWER VISTULA
Summary
The article deals with a better utilization of water resources of the Lower Vistula River. This can be done by realizing a project of the so-called navigation-power cascade embracing 9 water stages, approved already in 1957. The project should be realized in a period of 20 - 25 years, its costs being about 15 milliard zlotys. The cascade of the Lower Vistula River will bring many important economical effects, since its influence will embrace not only the Lower Vistula River valley, but also the areas situated in farther regions.
