Abstract

ESTIMATE OF WATER YIELD COEFFICIENT MADE ON THE BASIS OF FILTRATION COEFFICIENT Summary The present author analyses the value of both water yield and filtration coefficients of rocks and stresses their mutual dependency. Furthermore, he makes a comparative analysis of several loose rocks and states that the results obtained by means of the laboratory method consisting in gravitative seepage of water (King's method) are approximate to the coefficients from Biecinski’s empirical formula. To the end of his paper, the author states that Biecinski's formula may be of considerable practical use in determining water yield coefficient of rocks of known permeability.
