Abstract

COMPARATOR FOR MEASURING DISTANCES OF REFLEXES ON X-RAY PATTERNS Summary A description is given of a device projected and produced by the present authors to measure distances of reflexes on X-ray patterns. The device here considered resembles a large slide rule (Fig. 1) and is made completely of organic glass; it is equipped with two sliding windows having an adjusting scratch and a vernier scale that allow to take readings with an accuracy amounting to 0,05 mm. The size of the comparator corresponds to that of the films of the cameras 57,3 mm and 114,6 mm in diameter. The comparator differs from other devices of this kind in having 0 greater 0 accuracy of measuring, convenient operation and simple construction. The prototypes made by the authors proved to be suitable for both scientific and didactic works.
