Abstract
ON THE ESSENCE OF GLACITECTONICS
Summary
This is an article discussing the problem of one of the most popular notion in geomorphology and Pleistocene geology, i.e. the notion of glacitectonics. Both in foreign and home scientific literature this notion has not so far been clearly defined. The present author discusses several Polish and foreign definitions and comes to a conclusion that "glacitectonics" means some disturbances in substratum structure, caused by static pressure of continental ice against the substratum, under conditions of a direct contact of the continental ice with the materials disturbed.
