POSSIBILITY OF APPLYING PALAEOMAGNETIC RESEARCHES IN GEOPHYSICAL AND GEOLOGICAL STUDIES
Summary
At present, a considerable increase in palaeomagnetic researches can be observed throughout the world. Such an interest is a result of a rapid development of these researches in the last years, and of a possibility of applying them in solution and explanation of geophysical and geological problems. The article deals with the physical bases of the palaeomagnetic studies, as well as with the questions that can be explained using the methods considered. In addition, tasks which are to be solved by means of the palaeomagnetic methods are discussed, and state of palaeomagnetic researches carried on in Poland is presented, too.
