Abstract

METHODS OF QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION OF PERSPECTIVE OIL AND GAS RESERVES

Summary
The article presents 3 main methods of quantitative evaluation of perspective oil and gas reserves: comparative geological analyse, evaluation of reserves according to structures, and volumetric-genetical analyse. Moreover, there is discussed also the division of the perspective reserves into subgroups D1 and D2. Based on the previous experiences in evaluation of the perspective reserves of oil and gas, the authors are of the opinion that under conditions of the real state of geological reconnaissance of the country, the perspective reserves D1 should be calculated by means of the method of evaluation according to structures. They suggest the application of the method of comparative geological analysis to control the reality of computations. Perspective reserves D2 should be calculated by means of the method of the comparative geological analysis in various modifications. It seems to be valuable to continue the researches having in view the application of the volumetric-genetical method which, at present, cannot be thought to be satisfactory in general use.
