Abstract

PHENOMENA OF SEDIMENTATION AND LATER DISTURBANCE IN BOULDER CLAYS, NEAR ŻYRARDÓW AND MSZCZONÓW Summary Boulder clays that occur on the surface in an area between Żyrardów and Mszczonów and Skierniewice belong to the Middle Polish Glaciation. As a rule, they consist of at least two horizons separated with sands and gravels, and with silt intercalations. The variation of these boulder clays is considerably high, this being a grave hindrance in performing a right engineering-geological prognosis. The author discusses the phenomena of sedimentation and later disturbances in the boulder clays of the area under consideration.
