Abstract
MAGNETIC ANOMALIES OF VERTICAL COMPONENT IN THE REGIONS OF STARACHOWICE AND SŁUPIA NOWA
Summary
The paper presents the results of detailed magnetic surveys made in the vicinity of Starachowice and Słupia Nowa. The purpose of the researches was to explain in detail the causes of anomaly of vertical component detected in this vicinity by S. Pawłowski. It was stated as a result of these researches that the anomalies found in the vicinity of Starachowice are due to certain relicts of material culture, i. e. due to the early historical metallurgic sites. The measurement of vertical component made within the region of Słupia Nowa proved the presence of several negative anomalies on the mountain Chełmiec, near Święty Krzyż. A preliminary analysis of the results obtained, and the geological investigations made in this area point to the geological origin of these anomalies. Detailed reconnaissance of the genesis of these anomalies requires execution of one bore hole or of deep test pits.
