Abstract

NEW RESEARCH METHODS OF ICE-GROUND PROPERTIES IN MINING INDUSTRY Summary Physic-mechanical properties of water-saturated loose rocks of Tertiary and Quaternary age undergo changes during their petrification, e.g. during the artificial freezing. The changes in these properties may be useful in determining the extent of ice-ground and of its compressive strength. The paper deals with the purpose of applying such measurements, and the method of their use.
