Abstract

TECTONIC RESEARCH AND POSSIBILITIES OF DISCOVERING NEW MINERA1 DEPOSITS IN THE LOWER SILESIA AREA

Summary
The best reconnaissance of the more important surface and deep tectonic structures is a basis in search for new mineral deposits within the tectonically complicated areas of the Lower Silesia. Such a reconnaissance of the deep large structures, among others, of granitoid and basic intrusions, may be facilitated by semi-detailed magnetic and gravimetric surveys. The investigations of mesoscopic linear and areal structures, and space and time interrelations may be helpful in the reconnaissance of the main tectonic structures, as well. Mineral deposits are in various way related to tectonic phenomena. From the view point of geometrical tectonics the following deposits may be distinguished: post-deformational deposits – formed within the existing tectonic structures and fissures; syndeformational deposits – formed at the time of the production of tectonic structures, and pre-deformational deposits – not related to geometrical tectonics. After their formation they, naturally, may undergo tectonic deformation. To the types mentioned above belong deposits of various genesis and of various practical value.
