Abstract

PROBLEMATIC FAUNA OF BRACHIOPODS FOUND IN THE MAIN RIDGE OF THE ŚWIĘTOKRZYSKIE MOUNTAINS Summary Several dozen specimens of brachiopods have been found in chalcedony of the main ridge of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains (Lysogóry). They are differentiated qualitatively, certain forms reaching up to 45 in length. Among others the following have been encountered: Obolella sp (Fig. 1), O. cf. rotudata (Kiaer), (Fig. 2), Swantonia cf. antiquata (Billings), (Figs. 3 and 4), as well as the genus Nisusia (Figs. 5 and 6) and N. cf. festinata (Billings), (Fig. 7), and Billingsella cf. nighadensis (Walcott), (Fig. 8). The forms found to occur in the area considered are mainly of large size, like that among the representatives of Siphonotretacea (40 X 36 mm) and of Lingulella sp. (32 X 25 mm). Inventory number: 1188/II.
