Abstract

FERRUGINOUS SANDS FROM ZĘBIEC

Summary
The article deals with a ferruginous sand deposit at Zębiec, examined by the present author petrographically and chemically on the milled material with previous size amounting from 100 to 1 mm. The purpose of his research was to give some new data for further concentration. The deposit id exploited now at an outcrop approximately 150 m long, disclosing a big iron ore series. The author describes these ores from their bottom to top and presents the results of the analysis in tables. The analysis show that most ores contain much allophane that, after milling ores, comes to a contact with water and makes a kind of slime-like suspension that highly impedes the process of concentration.
