Abstract

ON SOME MINERALS OF GROUP OF LAMINATED SILICATES FOUND IN THE VICINITY OF JORDANÓW (LOWER SILESIA) Summary Applying complex mineralogical ~ comprising microscope observations, thermal-differential analysis, and X-ray and chemical analyses the author made a detailed identification of the interesting set of minerals of the laminated silicates found to occur in the vicinity of Jordanów, Lower Silesia. Among these minerals are: group of antigorite and chtrysotile, talc and pyropyllite and chlorite. As a result of these investigations the presence of chromium chlorite, kolskite (sungulite), saponite and parasepiolite has been ascertained. lt has also been demonstrated that some of these minerals may appear in the form of mutual structural intergrowths. The presence of the minerals mentioned above is thought to prove the influence of numerous complicated rock-building processes on the serpentinite found to occur in the vicinity of Jordanów.
