Abstract

ON POSSIBILITY OF USING THE TRÓJGARB PORPHYRIES AS POTASSIUM FELDSPATHIC RAW MATERNAL

Summary
The Trójgarb massif, situated in the northern part of the Intra-Sudetic depression, is built up of young Palaeozoic felsite porphyries characterized by aphanite texture. Geochemical examinations have demonstrated that the porphyries are characterized by a high potassium content (about 7% K2O), by a considerable potassium/sodium ratio (K2O:Na2O – about 14%), as well as by a low iron content (Fe2O3 - below 1%). The chemical composition of these porphyries suggests that the rocks here considered may be used as potassium feldspathic raw material.
