Abstract

DISPERSION DEGREE OF CLAYS AS AN INDEX FAR PRODUCTION OF AGGLOPORITE Summary The purpose of this article is emphasize a necessity of introducing, in evaluating clay raw materials for production of light aggregate of aggloporite type, the index of "clay dispersion" that determinates the content of clay fraction (below 0.005 mm) in mineral raw materials. An analysis of the results of studies on the clay mineral raw materials found to occur in the Gdańsk region, made in the light of the recent technical achievements of specialistic literature, proved that an interrelation exists between the usibility of clay mineral raw materials for production of aggloporite aggregate, and the content of clay fraction in mineral raw materials. The clay fraction may range here from 15 to 42%. Application of this index to determine the quality of a clay mineral raw material used for production of light aggloporite allows us to shorten the expensive technological researches, thus to diminish the costs of the documentary reports, as well.
