APPLICATION OF POTASSIUM METHYL-SILICONE TO MAKE A MOISTURE-PROOF SCREEN OF SAND
Summary
The method described in this paper consists in coating sand grains with potassium methyl-silicone that, due to its hydrophoby, abolishes the phenomenon of capillary rise and makes the infilling of pores with water impossible. Sand grains, prepared in this way, become a natural material that changes into moisture-proof membranes. So far, this method has not been observed in Poland.
