Abstract

SOME RESULTS OF GEOCHEMICAL EXAMINATIONS IN THE LUBLIN BASIN Summary Geochemical examinations of trace bitumens and of crude oils have been made of the Devonian and Carboniferous formations pierced by a bore hole made in the vicinity of Kock, Lublin Region. The examinations comprised, among others, both quantitative and qualitative determinations of saturated hydrocarbons, characterized by straight chains and isoprene structure. The results of these examinations, considered on a wide geological background, allowed the present authors to distinguish three genetically different types of crude oils, and to formulate a hypothesis concerning the probable, periods of their most intense migration.
