Przejawy mineralizacji manganowo-żelazistej w łupkach łyszczykowych kamieniołomu "Janowiczki"
Abstract
MANGANESE-IRON MINERALIZATION IN MICA SCHISTS OF THE QUARRY "JANOWICZKI" Summary Crystalline schists showing manganese-iron mineralization have been encountered during the exploitation of nephelinite deposits in the quarry "Janowiczki" (Wroclaw district, 12 km south-west of Strzelin). The schists also crop out within the Quaternary formations, in the form of a small lens. They belong to the so-called series of crystalline schists found to occur east of the Niemcza zone. These are highly interesting mainly due to their special tectonic position in relation to the Niemcza zone and to the crystalline basement of the Strzelin Hills. So far, no information has been available as concerns the manganese-iron mineralization of these rocks in the area considered. The position of the mica schists is interesting also owing to the fact that they are overlain with a Tertiary nephelinite effusive mass. The article also contains the results of the study carried out in the area discussed.Downloads
