CHARACTER OF SERPENTINIZATION OF ULTRABASIC ROCKS IN THE LOWER SILESIA AREA
Summary
Analysing the previous results of petrographic and chemical examinations of ultrabasic rocks from the Lower Silesia area, the present author tries to explain the nature of the serpentinization of these rocks, which, most probably, took ,place according to the equation V, in the presence of oxygen excess (secondary magnetite). Experimental studies made by W. Johannes (1966) allow us to elucidate the local occurrence of the serpentmite-talc-carbonate rocks.
