ON OPTICAL METHODS OF ABSOLUTE AGE DETERMINATION OF ROCKS
Summary
Development of methods of comparative dispersion of birefringence worked out by E. A. Kuznietsow is presented, and kinds of quantitative determination of K40, Ar40, U and Th of biotite, microcline, plagioclase, amphibole, pyroxene and zircon for absolute age determination of these minerals are described. Advantages and disadvantages of the methods of optical determining the absolute age of minerals are given, too.
