PRODUCTION OF CORUNDUM CRYSTALS BY CRYSTALLIZATION OF MELTED SALTS
Summary
Experiments aiming to obtain• corundum monocrystals from solutions of melted salts are described. The cristallization from a melt composed of PbF2 with boron oxide or bismuth added yielded the most encouraging results. The cristallizations from solutions of easily melting salts provides a convenient method of obtaining crystals of some substance for laboratory tests.
