SPONTANEOUS DECAY OF URANIUM ATOMS IN MINERALS
Summary
The paper deals with the phenomenon of spontaneous decay of uranium atoms In minerals. Traces of spontaneous decay in minerals allow us to determine: a) distribution and content of uranium in minerals and rocks, b) defect and isotropy degree of minerals, c) absolute age of minerals and rocks, d) thermal past of minerals. The phenomenon of defect of crystal lattice of minerals is discussed more in detail. The spontaneous decay is responsible for "perforation" of minerals. This enables the hydrothermal solution to migrate in rocks, and accelerates their metasomatic reconstruction.
