Abstract
PRESSIOMETRIC EXAMINATIONS OF SOILS "IN SITU"
Summary
Mechanical features of soils have been investigated by means of L. Menard's pressiometer. Pressiometric measurements have been made on sandy formations in the region of Warsaw - Żerań, and on deltaic soils in the vicinity of Gdańsk. On the basis of the results of measurements of soil deformations the values of pressiometric moduluses and limit tensions have been calculated. The measurements have been based on a new method of driving the pressiometric probe into the soil using a percussion hammer ZREMB-BC9. The usefulness of the probe has been proved during control measurements.
