Summary
An interest in conodonts – these small tooth-like marine fossils, has recently increased considerably, mainly due to their proved usefulness in stratigraphy problems. So far their stratigraphical position has not been explained. The present article deals with the latest hypotheses on this theme, and the highly interesting reports concerning a discovery of imprints of a conodont animal.
