Abstract

PALEOGENE DEPOSITS OF THE SZCZECIN REGION Summary The article concerns Tertiary deposits of the Szczecin region. The study is based on data concerning two deep boreholes made by the Geological Institute of Poland and forming a part of a regional basic research program in NW Poland. Two thick coal-bearing series were found, which is of great scientific, and presumably economic value. Drilling an additional, control borehole, c. 500 m deep, is suggested in order to better focus on the problem.
