Abstract

FIRST UPPER JURASSIC PALEOFLORISTIC LOCALITY IN POLAND Summary Preliminary results of lithogenetic and paleobotanic investigations carried out in a new Upper Jurassic paleofloristic locality at Wólka Bałtowska (Holy Cross Mts., Central Poland) are presented. The preliminary list of forms described includes 5 genera and species of Gymnospermae, belonging to the orda Pteridospermales, Ginkgoales and Coniferales and one genus of Pteridophyta from the order Equisetales. Moreover, remnants of Bennettitales (stems, reproductive organs - "flowers"), as yet unidentified, were found. This locality is the richest incidence of floral macrofossils of the Upper Jurassic age in Poland.
