NEW LOCALITIES OF FIRE SLATES IN THE LOWER MIKOŁÓW AND PORĘBA BEDS OF THE UPPER SILESIAN COAL BASIN
Summary
Distribution of fire slates, also known as crystalline clays tones or tonsteins, in the lower Mikołów and Poręba Beds, i.e. the Orzeskie Beds, was the subject of the former paper by the present author, in 1960(2). There, these fire-shale beds were shown to be of great value in parallellization or even identification of coal seams. The present paper deals with occurrences of the fire shales newly found in the lower Mikołów and Poręba Beds of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin.
