DETERMINATION OF ELASTICITY COEFFICIENTS BY MEANS OF ACOUSTIC INVESTIGATIONS
Summary
The present work concerns the use of the geoacoustic method in engineering geology to examine fissured and weathered rocks, particularly to study the zone of block-like weathering of the pre-Quaternary basement, as well as to research the rocks disturbed at the mining areas. Propagation velocity of longitudinal and transversal waves, and values of Young moduluses calculated on this basis are parameters that serve to distinguish the zones considered. Comparative analysis of both dynamic and static Young moduluses is made, and methods of converting some moduluses into other ones are presented.
