SIMPLIFIED METHOD OF CALCULATING RESULTS OF INVESTIGATING SHEAR STRENGTH IN TRIAXIAL APPARATUS
Summary
Traditional graphic-analytical method of calculating φ and c parameters during the investigation of shear strength in coherent soils by means of triaxial apparatus is embarrassing and burdened with some errors. The authors propose a simplification in the way of calculating the parameters φ and c with the aid of special tables. Use of the tables is simple and quick, the calculation exactness being greater than that in the traditional method, due to the elimination of graphical errors.
