Abstract

PROPOSALS OF NEW DIAGRAMS IN HYDROGEOLOGY Summary The following diagrams have been elaborated to improve hydrogeological calculations: 1 - diagram of unit range of a depression cone radius according to Sichardt's formula R1 = 3000 S1√k (Fig. 1); 2 - diagram of unit range of a depression cone radius according to Kusakin's formula R1 = 575 S1√kK (Fig. 2); 3 - diagram of unit capacity of hole in relation to 1,0 m of working length of filter according to Sichardt's formula φ = 2πr √k/15 (Fig. 3); 4 - diagram of unit capacity of hole in relation to 1,0 m of working length of filter according to Abramov's formula φ = 130πr 3√k (Fdg. 4); 5 - diagram of logarithmic dependence of the relation between the range of depression cone radius R and well radius r (Fig. 5). To simplify the calculations and to construct the diagrams given in points 1and 2 a notion has been introduced of unit value of range of depression cone radius R, i.e. such a value of the depression radius R1, which arises when the depression amounts to S1 = 1,0 m. In formulae, in which the value 2r or r occurs, for calculation are taken the values of the diameters of hydrogeological exploitation bore holes, applied in Poland, that is from 6" to 20". In these diagrams to each diameter of wells corresponds a line with the marked bore hole diameter. During the execution of the diagram presented in point 4, the values k used for calculations in metres per 24 hours have been transformed into the commonly used units k in m/sec, and the values of unit capacity of hole in m3/hour. As compared with the values calculated, the reading error for all the diagrams ranges within 1 per cent.
