THERMAL PROPERTIES OF WHITE ROTLIEGENDES SANDSTONES FROM LUBIN - POLKOWICE REGION
Summary
Exploitation of copper ores often occurring at a remarkable depth raises a number of technical problems, first at all the problem of providing adequate working conditions for miners. As it is widely known, working conditions in mines primarily depend on moisture, rate of air supply to exploited area, and temperature. The amount of heat passing from rocks to mine atmosphere is partly influenced by thermic properties of rock massif. The author started the studies on thermic conductance of rocks, including copper-bearing rocks of Polish copper basin. In the present paper the results of studies on. thermal properties of Rotliegendes white sands tones from Lubin-Polkowice area are discussed.
