DETERMINATION OF FILTRATION COEFFICIENT ON THE BASIS OF ANALYSIS OF GRAIN-SIZE DISTRIBUTION CURVE
Summary
The present paper deals with determination of filtration coefficient on the basis of grain-size distribution curve. The analysis of about 1,500 samples shows that differences between "k" values calculated on the basis of test pumpings by the use of two piezometers and the values read from the tables vary within the range of 20 to 30 per cent. This implicates that in programming hydrogeological surveys the time of test pumpings intended for evaluation of well output on the basis of determinations of well depression should be kept at minimum.
