VARIATION IN H2S ISOTOPE COMPOSITION IN THE PRESENCE OF EARTH GAS ACCUMULATIONS

The paper deals with possibilities of the use of isotopic composition of H2S from deposits series as a geochemical index of earth gas accumulations. Positive. δS34 content in H2S may be related to evaporite sulphide biogenic reduction under conditions of CH4 supply from deeper seated collectors. Sulphuretted hydrogen derived from earth gas accumulations or occurring in some mineral springs is characterized by positive δS34 values.
