Abstract

POLYTYPIC VARIETES OF ZINC SULFIDE FROM SILESIAN-CRACOW DEPOSITS Summary Methods of studies of polycrystalline samples of zinc blende and current terminology of poly type varietes of zinc sulfides are discussed. Recent developments in studies on the occurrence of zinc sulfide polytypes in the nature •are discussed. The studies on polytypes of zinc sulfides from zinc blende from Silesian-Cracow deposits, carried out by the present author, have shown the presence of both sphalerite 3C and wurcite poly types 9R, 15R and 21R.
