Abstract

DETERMINATION OF OPTICAL ORIENTATION IN PLAGIOCLASES BY MEANS OF EULER'S ANGLES AND UNIVERSAL FROŁOW'S TABLE

Summary
Among cryptocrystallic constants in plagioclases, those defining their optical orientation are of greatest importance. The constants are a function of chemical composition are degree of ordering of structure. Definition of the two constants in plagioclases is made by various methods. The quickest one is indicatrise orientation. According to C. Burry and W. W. Doliwo-Dobrowolski, this can be obtained by the application of Euler's angles, known in mathematics and mechanics, by means of which mutual space distribution of two systems of orthogonal coordinates is determined. The method of determination of optical orientation in plagioclases by means of EuIer's angles on the universal Frołows table is described in the paper.
