HEAVY MINERALS FROM GAIZE DEPOSITS FROM LUBLIN AND MARGINS OF THE HOLY CROSS MTS
Summary
Examination of decalcified and calcified gaizes allowed to find some differences in the composition of their heavy fractions. Changeability of quantitative relations as well as morphology and degree of mechanical treatment of heavy minerals make it possible to, distinguish decalcified and calcified series. Various farms of occurrence of heavy minerals, and especially zircon (well-rounded , grains and idiomorphic ones) may indicate different sources of material for the formation of the above mentioned sediments. The review of the results presented in the paper, allows to conclude that complexes of heavy minerals occurring in the gaizes are characteristic of acid igneous and metamorphic rocks.
