Summary
The paper describes the construction of a pumped storage power plant and presents engineering-geological surveys required during the construction of Porąbka-Żar power plant. The significance and results of engineering-geological surveys are shown on the example of the upper reservoir designing. Its designing required a detailed knowledge of actual geological conditions. In addition, strength parameters of the distinguished weathering profile zones of the series Kg4 are given.
