PROBLEM OF METHODOLOGY OF STUDIES ON CHANGES IN POROSITY OF SANDY SOILS AND ROCKS WITH THE USE OF ELASTIC WAVES
Summary
The paper presents the result of analysis of changes in velocity of longitudinal elastic waves in dependance on porosity. The analysis was based on the equation following from H. Brandt's theory, relevant for sandy rocks. The analysis made it possible to precise some requirements which should be fulfilled by seismic hardware used for measuring changes in porosity of sandy-gravel medium resulting from compaction. Moreover, possible reasons of failure of first experimental works carried out at Kozienice are discussed.
