Abstract

APPLICATION OF SPECTRAL MICROANALYSIS WITH LASER INDUCTION IN GEOLOGICAL STUDIES Summary The paper presents the possibilities of use of laser microanalysis method in geological studies on the basis of some examples. The examples taken from the works of the present authors are sometimes supplemented by the data taken from the literature. The laser microanalysis appears to be a usefull tool for solving the following problems: 1) identification of chemical composition of minerals (identification of minerals), Table Il;2) identification of minerals and analysis of paragenetic assemblages in thin sections; 3) analysis of growths in minerals and of mineral with zonal structure; 4) geochemical studies.
